Everstake Validator Address

everstake.poolv1.near

TL;DR

Everstake runs the NEAR validator pool everstake.poolv1.near, where NEAR holders delegate their tokens and keep custody the entire time. Delegation is non-custodial: Everstake operates the validator and cannot access, move, or withdraw delegated NEAR.

Full staking details ↓

  • Everstake charges a 6% commission, taken from staking rewards and never from the delegated amount. Current APR is 4.96%.

  • There is no minimum stake. NEAR pays rewards every epoch and the pool restakes them automatically, so rewards compound without any claim transaction.

  • Unstaking takes 4 epochs, after which the NEAR goes back to the delegator's own wallet. NEAR Protocol has no slashing for delegators today, so a validator going offline costs missed rewards for those epochs, without touching principal.

  • Delegation is signed in a NEAR wallet such as Meteor Wallet.

Everstake's NEAR Validator Pool: everstake.poolv1.near

When you stake NEAR, your token stays in your own account and you become a delegator to Everstake's pool. Everstake is the validator operator that produces blocks and secures the network, but it is never the custodian of your NEAR. The delegated balance stays under your keys, while Everstake's role is limited to running the infrastructure that generates rewards on that stake.

This is the pool ID you select from your wallet's validator list. Confirm it matches exactly before signing; the pool address is the one fact worth double-checking on every delegation.

NEAR Staking Rewards: APR, Fee, and Reward Mechanics

NEAR's reward rate is not fixed. It moves with the total amount of NEAR staked across the network, so the live figure changes over time.

ParameterValue
APRNetwork reward rate, before the 6% commission
Everstake commission6%, deducted from rewards, never from principal
Reward frequencyEvery epoch 43,200 blocks ranging from 7.2 to 12 hours
First rewardRoughly in 12 hours, after the stake clears its warm-up (one epoch)
Reward handlingAutomatically restaked each epoch, so rewards compound with no claim transaction
Minimum stakeNone
SlashingNot currently implemented on NEAR
Unstaking period4 epochs (~52-65 hours).

Why Stake NEAR?

When users delegate their tokens, they help strengthen the network's consensus decentralization and generate rewards in return, provided the validator handling their stake successfully produces a block. Payouts are allocated in proportion to how much each participant has contributed relative to the overall staking amount in the contract.

How to Stake NEAR with Everstake in 4 Steps

  1. Open a NEAR wallet that supports staking, such as Meteor, or a Ledger device.
  2. Find the validator list in your wallet's staking section and select everstake.poolv1.near.
  3. Enter the amount of NEAR to delegate and confirm the 6% commission shown.
  4. Sign the transaction. Your stake activates after a short warm-up of one epoch, then rewards accrue and compound each epoch.

Everstake's own site does not execute the delegation. NEAR staking is signed in your wallet,  keeping the process non-custodial from start to finish.

Where to Stake NEAR: Wallets That Support Everstake

Everstake's pool can be selected from any NEAR wallet with a staking function. Step-by-step guides for each:

How Long Unstaking NEAR Takes

Unstaking on NEAR takes about 4 epochs. The NEAR reference staking-pool contract guarantees funds are never locked longer than 4 epochs after an unstake, so the wait is capped at that. The elapsed time depends on the live epoch length at the moment you unstake.

  • Unstaking window: 4 epochs
  • During the window: the NEAR generates no rewards and cannot be transferred or redelegated

After the unstaking window, the NEAR is back in the delegator's wallet with no further action needed. There is no lock-up beyond the unstaking window, so you can begin unstaking at any time.

NEAR Staking Risks: No Slashing, but Downtime Costs Rewards

NEAR Protocol does not currently apply slashing to delegators, so delegated NEAR cannot be reduced as a penalty for validator error. The risk Everstake manages on NEAR is downtime: a validator that is offline produces no blocks and generates its delegators no rewards for those epochs. NEAR removes a validator from the active set if it drops below the uptime threshold, and rewards fall off sharply below 99% uptime.

  • Slashing: none on NEAR Protocol today (protocol-level slashing has been discussed for the future; principal is not currently at risk from validator error)
  • Actual risk: missed rewards during validator downtime

Price risk is separate and always applies: the number of NEAR you get is fixed by the protocol, but the fiat value of that NEAR moves with the market. Staking does not hedge price.

Everstake monitors the NEAR validator continuously, you can check the validator performance at Nearblocks.

How NEAR Proof-of-Stake Works: Nightshade and Sharding

NEAR runs on Nightshade, its sharded proof-of-stake design. Instead of having every validator process every transaction, Nightshade partitions the network into shards that handle transactions in parallel, the mechanism behind NEAR's high throughput and low fees.

The Nightshade 2.0 upgrade, live on mainnet since August 2024, introduced stateless validation. Each validator now tracks a single shard instead of syncing all of them. NEAR has since expanded from 6 to 9 mainnet shards.

Validators are selected each epoch and rewarded in proportion to the stake delegated to them, the source of your rewards.

  • NEAR launched with an initial supply of 1,000,000,000 NEAR and has no hard maximum supply cap, so total supply grows each epoch as rewards are issued.
  • The protocol issues roughly 2.5% of supply per year (reduced from 5% by governance in October 2025), with about 90% of that issuance going to validators and their delegators.
  • NEAR is the token used to pay for transactions, secure the network through staking, and reserve on-chain storage.
  • 70% of every transaction fee is burned, which offsets issuance and can push the network net deflationary when usage is high.
