How to Stake SOL via Trezor Suite Mobile: Full Self-Custody Guide (2026)

Everstake and Trezor bring together offline key storage and active participation in the Solana network, letting self-custody users delegate SOL directly from a hardware wallet. This guide walks through SOL staking in Trezor Suite Mobile step by step, with Everstake operating the validator infrastructure behind every delegation.

TL;DR

  • Staking SOL through Trezor lets you support the Solana network and receive staking rewards while your private keys stay offline on the device.
  • Everstake is the default validator for Solana staking in Trezor Suite.
  • Staking is non-custodial: you keep beneficial ownership of your SOL throughout, and rewards are automatically restaked.
  • The minimum to stake is 1 SOL, and every transaction is confirmed physically on your Trezor device before it executes.

Why stake SOL with the Trezor

Staking SOL with a Trezor hardware wallet keeps your keys offline while you take part in securing the Solana network. Every delegation is signed on the device, so no transaction executes without a physical confirmation.

Solana runs on a combination of Proof-of-Stake and Proof-of-History, and validators lock SOL to verify transactions and produce blocks. When you delegate, your SOL helps validate the chain and raises the economic cost of attacking the network.

The delegation goes to Everstake, which handles validator operations while you retain full ownership of your assets. Rewards are automatically restaked, so they compound over time rather than sitting idle.

The more SOL delegated across Solana, the more expensive it becomes for any attacker to acquire enough stake to compromise consensus. Each network participant contributes directly to that security.

About Trezor

Trezor is a hardware wallet maker that lets users store, send, receive, and stake crypto assets while keeping private keys offline. Trezor Suite is the official companion software for managing those assets across desktop and mobile.

Solana staking in Trezor Suite is supported on the Trezor Model T, Trezor Safe 3, Trezor Safe 5, and Trezor Safe 7. The staking flow is the same across devices, with on-device confirmation used for every delegation.

Every action in the staking flow requires physical approval on the Trezor screen, so users can participate in the network without handing custody to a third party.

Staking SOL with Trezor Suite Mobile: Step-by-Step Guide

Below is the full process based on the Trezor Suite Mobile interface. Download the official app following the guidelines on official Trezor website.

Step 1. Connect Your Trezor

Open Trezor Suite Mobile and connect your Trezor device. The app confirms the connection at the top of the screen, showing your device name and a Connected status.

Enter your PIN on the device to unlock it. Once connected, the Suite detects your Trezor and loads your existing accounts.

Step 2. Check it has the amount you’d like to stake

Confirm the Solana account you plan to use holds at least 1 SOL, the current minimum for a delegated stake on Solana. Keep a small additional SOL balance to cover the network fee for the staking transaction.

Open the Earn tab at the bottom of the screen.

Under Other opportunities, you will see the list of stakeable assets and their reward rates.

Step 3. Start the staking flow

Press Solana in the Other opportunities list to begin the SOL staking flow.

A Choose account panel opens, listing your Solana accounts with their balances. Select the account you want to stake from.

Step 4. Select your Account and Review delegation details

Read the How SOL staking works screen, which explains the core terms of the delegation. It confirms three points:

  • Rewards are automatically restaked with automatic compounding.
  • Staked SOL is locked and cannot be sent or swapped while staked.
  • After a warm-up period, you can unstake anytime, and funds become available within roughly 2 days.

Tap Staking timeline to expand the full timeline and fees. The Staking path runs in three steps:

  1. Sign the staking transaction, which carries a network fee.
  2. Wait through the entry period of roughly 2 days.
  3. Receive weekly rewards.

The Unstake path:

  1. Sign the unstaking transaction, which carries a network fee.
  2. Enter the cooldown period for roughly 2 days.
  3. Claim your unstaked SOL, which carries a network fee.
  4. Receive SOL in your account.

Close the panel and tap Continue to proceed.

Step 5. Choose the staking amount

Enter how much SOL you want to delegate in the Amount field (minimum 1 SOL). You can also toggle Stake max to delegate the full balance in the account, keeping the required fee reserve aside.

As you type, Trezor Suite shows the estimated yearly rewards for the amount entered. This figure is subject to change with network conditions.

Check the amount, then tap Continue.

On the Before you continue screen, confirm the entry period. It notes that the entry period currently takes up to 2 days and that you cannot cancel your stake during this period.

Tap I understand to acknowledge the entry period. Next, review the Delegate to Everstake section, which explains that you delegate your SOL voting rights to the Everstake validator node while retaining full ownership of your assets.

Tap I understand again to proceed.

Step 6. Confirm the action on your Trezor Device

Trezor Suite now shows the full transaction and prompts you to continue on your Trezor device. Review the Stake and Total including fee details, including the amount and the maximum fee.

Confirm the transaction on the Trezor device itself. Once both items are checked and confirmed, the You’re all set screen appears, and you can tap Stake now.

The transaction includes a small refundable fee that opens your staking account. On Solana, this fee is referred to as rent, and it is fully refunded to you once you unstake.

Step 7. Staking initiated

After confirmation, Trezor Suite shows the Stake transaction as Confirmed, along with the amount, fee, date, and transaction overview. You can open Show in blockchain explorer to view the transaction on-chain.

The Staking dashboard then displays information for the selected account. It shows your Pending stake, your staked balance, total rewards marked as automatically restaked, the reward rate, and a rewards cadence of roughly every 2 days.

Tap Pending stake to view its progress through three stages:

  • Transaction confirmed.
  • Entry period of roughly 2 days.
  • Staked and generating rewards.

Tap Got it to close the panel. To review your position later, open the Earn menu, select Staking, and choose your Solana account to see delegation details and options to stake more or unstake.

Everstake and Trezor partnership, reliability

Trezor and Everstake have been staking partners for years now, offering Trezor users ways to secure the Solana network through reliable infrastructure. Everstake operates globally distributed infrastructure aligned with SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001, and NIST CSF 2.0 and is committed to the highest industry standards.

Choice of validator matters because validators that misbehave, by going offline at critical moments or by double-signing, can face slashing. Everstake maintains high uptime and best operational practices to minimize that risk for everyday network participants.
